Within the Guildhall complex is situated the West Wing which was built in 1974 and it is this building where the NMR Pipetector has been installed of the domestic hot water pipe work that was experiencing coloured water resulting from issues with internal corrosion Only 3 weeks after the installation of the NMR Pipetector, the Fe content decreased from 6.36mg/l to 0.015 mg/l. It means that the corrosion (FeO (OH)) inside of the pipe work was terminated and reduced to magnetite (Fe3O4) which is not dissolved into the water.
