The factory was suffering from calcium scale depositing in the outer casing of liquid ring vacuum pumps. Because of that, the pump propellers were worn out and damaged, having been faced a frequent halt operation. Moreover, issues caused by scale deposits had also disrupted the factory’s manufacturing line more than 20 times a year because of the loss in the vacuum pumps’ suction.

The factory then decided to use a calcium scale removing device, dubbed Non-Scalor, to address these problems. After replacing one of the vacuum pumps with a new one, the factory adopted Non-Scalor and observed a change in the scale deposition over six months to see Non-Scalor’s actual effectiveness.

After the said months, the factory mentioned that any disruption on the production line did not occur during the testing period. In addition, when the factory looked inside the pumps’ outer casing, it found out that the scale deposits were primarily peeled off as they were either washed out or converted into soft and fine calcium particles.

Non-Scalor alters calcium ions in water to nano-fine crystal grains of calcium carbonate (CaCO3). Most of the converted grains are then washed out, and others remain as soft particles easy to be cleansed.

This time, Non-Scalor successfully washed out and softened the scale deposits to a non-adhesive state.Consequently, Non-Scalor has accomplished in protecting the propellers from being damaged and keeping the pumps’ suction level.
